Last year, Supergiant blew the gaming world away with their near-perfect and also very thirsty roguelike, Hades. We certainly could have spent this time talking all about how the gameplay is expertly crafted to make you feel like every run is forward progress, or how the characters are all incredibly unique and likable in their own way, or how the music and sound design helps to build an engaging world that constantly makes you crave just...one...more...attempt.

Instead, we took the high road and pitched a fake DLC with sexy Jesus, a man with a 2x4 shoved down his pants, and a certain former president with a penchant for reanimating flesh.

FLAVOR TEXT: League of Legends

You know when you get that big ol' 1,200+ calorie burrito bowl from Chipotle and you see all the different colorful ingredient layers? And then you just mash your plastic fork and slosh everything around and the guac turns the whole thing into a murky greenish-brown protein slurry? And then you ladle on hot sauce overtop like gravy on instant potatoes? That's kind of like the story of League of Legends--it's a burrito bowl chock full of knights and wizards, a generous helping of demons, a sprinkle of pirates, and all topped off with a few dashes of Lovecraftian horror. All these things that we enjoy individually somehow come together in one big goopy mess of fun, fantasy nonsense.

There is A LOT to unpack here, so we're focusing on setting up the setting and the world of Runeterra, which is the center of Riot's rebooted lore back in 2014. We're also highlighting a few choice characters and how each of their backstories connect back to the hub world.

You've watched it played on TV, you've seen the constant feed of YouTube content, and you've heard your nephew talking about it incessantly before they were "Dabbing a Fortnite". Even though the game is 4 years old, Blizzard's Overwatch is a staple of the eSports community, and is the undeniable king of team shooters.

But even if you play this game competitively, chances are you've never heard of the complex story that lives behind all of the emo skeletons and sassy mech drivers. For some reason, Blizzard decided to create a deep and compelling backstory of a robot uprising (naturally), an Avengers-esque team of superheroes, a second robot uprising after the robots realized humanity is flawed (classic), and a talking Science-Gorilla who eats a lot of sandwiches.

As soon as someone uttered "...place of power, gotta be" on this show, it was destined that we would one day be uploading an episode where Andrew "ummm actually"s everyone through each of the books in The Witcher series. Well that day has finally arrived! And with the release of the fantastic Netflix adaptation, we decided to focus this episode on the first two books, which are actually a collection of several short stories that set up this universe. We're taking you through each of the short stories found in "The Last Wish" and "Sword of Destiny," and then comparing how those stories are represented in the Netflix show. Toss a coin, nerds...it's time.
