DLC EPISODE: Extended Good Vibes! Clip Show 2

Happy Tuesday! All four of us were traveling together this weekend for Kyle's bachelor party, and we opted for IRL friendship over recording an episode. Instead, we humbly present to you a sampling, a best-of if you will, of our Patreon-exclusive post show, Extended Good Vibes! For the uninitiated, we keep the mics rolling for an extra 30ish minutes after each DT! episode to talk about what got left on the cutting room floor, what we're watching on TV, and just our general opinions on the universe. Today's ramblings are from the post shows of episodes 122-126. We hope you enjoy this easy listening week, because we'll be back with Episode 127 next week and boy is it a WILD one.

If you enjoyed these clips today, consider joining the ranks of #ButtThwompNation over at patreon.com/debatethiscast! You can join our exclusive Discord server for as low as $5 and gain access to EGV! for $10.

Episode 126: Time Cops and Time Signatures

If you've listened to this podcast for more than a few weeks, you've probably heard at least one of our hosts complain about common RPG elements like turn-based combat and complex menuing. Maybe you agree with those complaints, or maybe you don't, but one thing is for sure, the garden-variety "JRPGs" just aren't for everyone. There are gamers out there in the gamerverse who prefer baby games for babies. One of those gamers may cohost this podcast. Well, in honor of those who prefer controllers with two buttons, this week we're simplifying your favorite crunchy video games!

Todd is going to talk more about classical music than you're prepared for. Kyle may or may not be dunking on everyone's favorite 5v5 hero shooter. Andrew is going to draw the line between Final Fantasy and kart racing games, and it will be critically acclaimed.

Episode 125: All's Fair in Love and Chicken War

November 19, 2006, also known as the day the Earth stood still, saw the release of S-tier console, the Nintendo Wii. Unbeknownst to most, the rise of the Nintendo Wii awoke an ancient sleeping monstrosity that had laid dormant in the games industry since the SNES era. That ancient monstrosity was a type of games called "Shovelware." For the uninitiated, shovelware is a term for games that were hastily developed to showcase quantity over quality. You probably rented at least one of these games accidentally from Giant Eagle, or were gifted one by an estranged family member for Christmas. Well today, we here at DT!HQ are going to turn shovelware games into AAA megahits!

Kyle is here to talk about a racing game this week, but it's not the one you think. Andrew's answer will remind you of that weird time when we were all really into clay-mation. Matt is also here, and he's doing too much.

The Office Drones: Episode Sacramento (LIVE At Origins Game Fair)

Last weekend, we had the opportunity to do a live show of our Patreon-exclusive D&D show, The Office Drones, to a very open-minded audience at Origins Game Fair here in Columbus, OH. It was a super good time and everyone there was really cool with playing in the weird space of a side episode based on a show that's been running for 3+ years on a closed Patreon feed they'd never heard of owned and operated by a podcast they'd also never heard of.

This is the recording of that episode, and it was a BLAST. We created all new characters that live in the extended Office Drones universe, but rest assured no prior knowledge is necessary to enjoy this one-off episode.

If you like this and want to experience more of the story of The Office Drones, go back and check out some of the supercut episodes we've uploaded to the free feed (Book 1: https://open.spotify.com/episode/17MTbQNZlJwUQJu0Fy1lVY?si=844a760ad62f402d; Book 2: https://open.spotify.com/episode/48LEjg152yvD7FKQ0bhIFq?si=0603a9edefda4166). Episode 124: With Great Ptower Comes Great Resptonsibility

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse just hit theaters a few weeks ago and it's safe to say this is Sony's best Marvel movie since 2018's Into the Spider-Verse. Well the execs over at Sony are ready to ride the Spider Train all the way to moneyville! They've reached out to DT!HQ for help crafting a new, Spiderman-based, genre-inspired cinematic universe. That's why this week, we're digging into Wikipedia to find the wildest Spiders Men from across the Marvel Universe and assigning them a matching film genre!

Matt is here to play fast and loose with spiders, men and punctuation. Andrew tells the story of a True American Hero (TM) as only a Horse Movie (TM) can. Todd reminds us all of the trauma we suffered at the hands of We're Back! A Dinosaur Story.

FLAVOR TEXT: Bloodborne

The pale moon rises on Yharnam, a Victorian England-inspired city cursed with a mysterious plague known only as the "Beast Scourge." You arrive in Yhaarnam by way of spooky blood magic as the latest inductee to this underground society of Hunters, whose sole purpose is to hunt and kill the beasts terorrizing the town. But, this is a Dark Souls game, and so there's no possible way there could be anything hidden deeper in this cool werewolf game, right?

Episode 123: Choose Your Own Blood God

Four years ago, we asked the question "Which Legend of Zelda Item Would You Bring with You to a Deserted Island?" Well, in case you didn't notice, a big, beautiful, new Legend of Zelda game released last month and it's time for us to recapture the magic and surf the SEO wave! So, just like season 3 of Lost, we have to go back. Inspired by Tears of the Kingdom, this week we're asking, "Which two Legend of Zelda Items Would You Bring with You to a Deserted Island?"

When all your problems are nails, everything is a hammer. Unfortunately for Todd, there are no nails on this island. Matt hasn't played TotK yet, but he has seen 2000's Castaway and that has to be something. Meanwhile, Kyle is here to ask more questions about video game physics than we could possibly answer.
